Dokuchaev Conference

Dokuchaev Conference The first All-Russian scientific and practical conference on the rehabilitation of natural ecosystems of Donbass and the Zaporozhye region, known as the "Dokuchaev Conference", was held in Rostov-on-Don. The event is one of the key events of the Program of sending environmental humanitarian missions to the LPR, DPR, Zaporozhye and Kherson regions for 2023-2025, which was launched on behalf of the President in February this year. More information about the conference can be found at the link https://t.me/dokuchaev_conf

The purpose of the conference is to find possible solutions to environmental problems that have arisen in new Russian regions over the past 30 years. All these years, there have been practically no measures to support the unique ecosystems of the regions, and this has led to negative consequences, such as desertification of territories, increased salinity of the Sea of Azov, deforestation and the lack of a waste management system.

At the conference, the head of the Project Development Department of the Notivory Foundation, Alexander Dobryakov, spoke about our projects that focus not only on environmental protection, but also on social aspects. One of the projects is the project "Donbass Extraordinary" implemented with the support of the Presidential Grants Fund. Its main goal is to preserve the historical, cultural heritage and natural resources of the Donetsk People's Republic. In addition, the project is aimed at social and psychological adaptation of the residents of the republic.

Within the framework of the project "Donbass Extraordinary", an expedition was organized on the territory of the Donetsk People's Republic. The team of the Notaivory Foundation, together with experts in the field of ecology, monitored the environmental situation in the region. According to the results, the foundation's experts presented their conclusions on the environmental problems of the region and possible ways to solve them, and a virtual tour of specially protected natural territories was also created https://notivory.com/upload/vtour /, where the audience is presented with the natural resources of Donbass.

Residents of Donbass, professional and amateur photographers, including children, were able to demonstrate to the general public the beauty of their native land "with their own eyes" by participating in a contest of photographs and drawings, followed by their placement at an exhibition–conference dedicated to the nature of Donbass within the framework of the project "Donbass Extraordinary".

The exhibition of works was presented by us at the Dokuchaev Conference, where participants were able to see the Donbass from a different angle, learn about the region with the unobvious beauty of nature.

We also presented at the conference our new project called "Give the Sky". The main goal of this project is to provide wounded combat veterans with the opportunity to be in demand on the labor market upon returning home or to continue their service. The implementation of this project will not only help veterans, but also attract public attention to the problems of the participants of the SVO, who have partially lost their ability to work.

Our foundation strives to attract public attention to environmental and social problems, as well as to implement projects aimed at solving them. We believe that great results can be achieved through joint efforts!

The holding of the Dokuchaev Conference and the implementation of the projects of the Notaivory Foundation demonstrate the importance of preserving and restoring ecosystems in the regions of Donbass and other new areas. This encourages everyone to actively participate in the support and protection of nature, and also helps to create conditions for the social adaptation of people affected by hostilities.
