Global warming

The first to suffer from global warming will be cities that are too close to big water. Five magnificent places could disappear from the face of the earth in the near future.

1. Venice, Italy

Venice, the city of canals, gondoliers and serenades, is only four kilometers from the Adriatic sea. This explains the fact that every year a beautiful city falls under the water by four millimeters. Floods happen almost every year, and every year they bring new records. In November 2019, torrential downpours caused the water to rise to almost 190 cm Beloved by many tourists square in front of the Cathedral of San Marco was completely covered with water. Witnesses described the flooding is not just a terrible and apocalyptic.

Scientists are convinced that in just two or three decades, the city-a historical monument will almost completely go under water, if it is not possible to reduce the amount of carbon dioxide emitted into the atmosphere. Additional factors that are also involved in the flooding of Venice, called subsidence of the soil under the heavy buildings of cathedrals, churches and massive palaces.

2. Mumbai, India

One of the most densely populated areas of India, which is located on the shores of the Arabian sea, in the very near future may also fall under the water. Every year the water level is getting higher. Global warming has caused numerous floods, which exacerbate the difficult situation. One of the most dangerous and devastating occurred in 2018. Hundreds of people were injured, and restoration work in many areas is still ongoing.

Scientists never tire of warning people-by the end of this century, natural disasters will be almost 50 percent more. This means that Mumbai and similar coastal cities will sink lower and lower under the water.

3. Male, Maldives

The beautiful Maldives, a popular holiday Paradise, is at risk of going under the water without too much noise for the next hundred years. The first victims of global warming will be tiny atolls — their fate will be decided in a couple of decades. Then it will be the turn of the larger Islands and the capital, male. The President of the country is already negotiating with the heads of other States on the purchase of special lands for "climate refugees".

4. Amsterdam, Netherlands

Amsterdam can be called the younger brother of Venice. There are as many canals and bridges, and the water comes on the buildings with the same tenacity. Every year, the capital of Holland goes under water for eight millimeters. Within ten years, the magnificent old town could be completely flooded.

However, the locals are actively opposed to nature. Since the end of the 50-ies of the last century, the project "Delta" has been developing, the purpose of which was the construction of protective structures in the Rhine Delta. Of course, these measures will not be able to become a weapon against global warming, which is the fault of the entire population of the planet.

5. Jakarta, Indonesia

Ten centimeters a year — it is at this rate that the capital falls into the waters of The world ocean. Jakarta initially stands on a swamp, the situation is aggravated by the proximity to the Java sea. Thirteen rivers flow through the unfortunate city, in which floods have become commonplace. By 2050, 95 percent of all Jakarta could be under water-scientists warn.55.pngGlobal warming is a slow but ruthless killer that easily deals with the most developed megacities, leaving people no chance of salvation. Unless action is taken, many people on planet Earth will lose their homes, shelter and food in the next 50 years.
