30 thousand African elephants a year are killed for profit

The problem of poaching in the world has reached a certain peak. In Africa, poachers illegally kill around 30,000 elephants annually. People believe that there is something sacred in the tusks of an elephant, so they are ready to give millions for it.

“Every year in Africa at least 30,000 elephants are killed just because of what they make of the tusks, ranging from objects of art to some talismans. It is necessary to protect the animals living where the man still keeps tohis pagan prejudices and kills animals precisely because this part of theirs has some value. These are our tigers, our Far Eastern leopard, this is a snow leopard, these are African animals: rhino, elephant. They (poachers) just harvest and it does not matter for what purpose: for sale, in order to nurse their pride, and the tiger's skin must lie near their fireplace, and they think to be such a cool guy. All animals suffer from poachers. For them, there is no difference what is in front of them”, says Maxim Knyazev, the founder of the NotIvory Foundation.
