«The creak of the Earth»: abnormal sound phenomena in nature
What you heard on the video is a kind of sound anomaly recorded in different parts of the world. Unlike other similar phenomena, this sound is well recorded by audio equipment and is heard by most people. Agree, very mystical? Someone thinks that this hum is similar to the howl of an animal, someone compares it to screams from Hell, someone even believes that the sound is alien.
Sometimes those who hear this sound, their well-being deteriorates sharply, headaches, nausea, weakness, dizziness, mood swings, outbursts of aggression appear, many cannot sleep and fall into a depressive state. There is an explanation for this. If the hum coming either from the sky or from under the Ground is a low-frequency noise, then the pathologies are justified by the fact that such waves can provoke disturbances in the central nervous system and change a number of biological functions of the human body.
The modern history of the "sounds of the apocalypse" began in the 1970s in the British city of Bristol. Residents of this city began to complain about the strange noise. Gradually, the sufferers from the sounds became more and more. Then the hum problem came to the attention of the Sunday Mirror journalists, and they posted an article. After the publication, the editorial office was littered with letters, there were more than 700 of them and all, as one, described a sound similar to the sounds of a diesel engine. By 1977, scientists came to the conclusion that this sound is not fiction, not a symptom of mental illness, but a very real anomaly. However, the commission established in 1980 was unable to determine its source. The noise appeared and disappeared.
The next recorded surge in complaints occurred in the 90s, and by 2011 the phenomenon had acquired a large-scale character and the "sounds of Hell" were recorded on all continents.
Versions of the origin of the drone: from apocalyptic to scientific
Of course, the anomaly that has appeared causes many different opinions. Apocalyptic versions are based on the analogy between the sound, which is similar to the sound of a trumpet and the end of the world.
In many religions and beliefs, the end of the world should be accompanied by some frightening sounds. For example, the Bible says that after wars, famines, epidemics, earthquakes and other cataclysms, angels will sound seven trumpets, warning of the true apocalypse. In Islam, it is believed that the end of the world will come immediately after the event, which is known as "Nauhatul-Ula" (the first sound of the trumpet). According to the beliefs of the Jews, the end of the world will be foreshadowed by the sound of the so-called Jericho trumpet.
There is also an opinion that the source of the hum is radio equipment. In the 70s, the LORAN radio navigation system, the predecessor of GPS, was blamed. Today, the HAARP ionosphere is considered guilty.
*HAARP (High–Frequency Radio Wave Ionospheric Scattering Research Program) is an American research project to study the interaction of the ionosphere with powerful electromagnetic radiation. The project was launched in the spring of 1997, in Gacon, Alaska.
There are also more scientific versions. Of course, they have their own difficulties, which is why the only explanation for the phenomenon has not yet been found. The main difficulty of studying abnormal sounds, first of all, is that, according to scientists, each phenomenon must be considered as an independent phenomenon.
Some scientists explain the anomaly by the Frey Effect.
*Microwave auditory effect or Frey effect is an effect consisting in the auditory perception of microwave radiation. Perceived sounds occur directly inside the human skull without the use of additional electronic equipment.
In favor of this theory, it can be added that indeed, anomalies in the behavior of animals reacting to changes in the earth's electromagnetic field were recorded in many places where the "hum" appeared.
The next version of the "moan of the Earth" is explained by cataclysms in the sun. Each solar flare is accompanied by the release of a huge amount of energy. When the streams of this energy enter the earth's atmosphere, acoustic waves arise, which rush to the surface of our planet. Sometimes they overlap with natural noise, and a sound similar to a groan appears. Another version is considered to explain the noise by microseismic activity caused by waves in the ocean.
And finally, some scientists consider the ominous hum to be an ordinary natural process. As you know, the Earth is a relatively young planet, and various changes are constantly taking place in its bowels: energy is accumulating and being released, magma flows are moving, tectonic plates are shifting, the Earth's crust is rising and falling, gravitational deformation of deep layers is taking place. It is logical that all these processes are accompanied by characteristic sounds.
